While 4 MLB teams furiously duke it out for top bragging rights in the 2008 season, I am rather disinterested. You can trace the sudden change of heart to the moment my team was eliminated from the race. I have no one to root for anymore. It's not fun. I try. But it's not the same. I have no allegience to the other teams.
We all need some object to root for. If our team isn't in the game, it's just no fun. Whether we're on the bench or on the courts, we've got to enjoy the thrill of a cheer. What's your team? What drives you? Without it, it's no fun. There is no joy.

You can always root against teams. I hate the Phillies and I wish them all the ills of the world upon them. Furthermore, I hate the Yankees (yeah, yeah I know they're not in it) and how sweet would it be if the manager they fired led an undeserving Dodgers (Brooklyn!!!) to the promised land? See? I just gave you two reasons to sit back and enjoy Manny being Manny for 1 more Oct/Nov swan song before he joins the Amazin's next Spring.
my team - the Oklahoma sooners - is playing the red river shootout tomorrow - i'll be in class and then heading over to church for some stuff during the game.. i'm sad i'll miss this great rivalry.. i'm also sad, cuz noone in the NE seems to enjoy NCAA football as much as I do..
Dug and I are huge CF fans, but you have to understand, the Big 12 is not that great. Last team to win anything was Texas w/Vince "I wanna cry everytime I get on the field" Young. You need to be a SEC fan. Then we can talk shop.

i hope joe torre wins it all, love it when the yankees make poor management decisions.
It looks like it's over for the Red Sox too. At least we made it farther than the Yankees! By the way Joe Torre did as well. I hope the Yankees sign Manny next year, he needs a hair cut.
